We are looking for short pieces. Who cares what genre it is! We are accepting random thoughts, scrap thoughts, finished thoughts. Poetry is not limited to Poetry. Prose, Political, Dialogues. We are looking for a page or two. Large submissions by invite only. Get it to us—we are looking for new people, new thoughts, new conversations. Give us everything you would anonymously and then put your name on it. The point is to get involved with exercising our collective expressive obsessive! We want illustrations, scraps and doodles, small scenes, political cartoons, drawings of drawings of drawings. Images must be Black + White Friendly. Get a sketch and put it in the mail. Take a piece of typing paper–fold it in half–now you have four sides–come on, give it a shot! ” An irregular journal of quantum thought, independent zine THE GUT has been digesting culture since the early twenty-first century under the dual editorship of anti-writer Zack Kopp (Denver, CO) and guerrilla therapist Andrew Wible (Staten Island, NY), former classmates at Vermont College in Montpelier. Notable publications to date have included work by Kansas poet Chandra Dickson, founder of “Poetry For The Masses,” a project designed to make poetry public and public life poetic, work by Denver Slam Empress Suzi Q. Smith, Chicago comic Brian Potrafka, metamorphic prose by Kopp and Wible, and much more. Five issues have been produced so far, and as of April 07, a sixth is in the works. Kopp recently appeared at the 2nd annual Denver Zine Fest, where he gave an informal talk on “Irreverence vs. Disrespect in Art,” his slant being that irreverence (like the dada revolt) is positive, being a natural impulse, but disrespect is limiting of that impulsive art (whatever that means!) Other recent notable publications include an interview with counter culture icon Paul Krassner.
